Hanukkah is wrapping up so I figured it was a good time to do some holiday investigation to figure out …
How do you spell it?
The LeeVees seem to be in the dark too, but their album “Hanukkah Rocks” also address the sour cream v. applesauce on latke debate. The LeeVees are — of course — a band made up of the guys from Guster and the frontman from the Zambonis (a Connecticut-based band that writes songs exclusively about hockey).
Who is celebrating it?
Best. Version. Evah.
Which Mormon legislators are penning their own Hanukkah songs?
Not sure I could sum this up any better than the dude at the end of the video: “So, all it is is a hip-hop Hanukkah song written by the senior senator from Utah. That’s all it is.”
Who’s dropping the Hanukkah Science?
ברוך אתה ה’ אלהינו מלך העולם
Who is making Hanukkah slasher films?
“The Festival of Frights”, “Hannukiller”, and “A Torah-fying new tale of horah” = strongsauce. [Editor’s note: The Fangoria link that was originally included is dead, but these titles will live forever]
Who got accepted to the Digital Publishing Management graduate certificate program at SCAD?
The Jo! Not really related to Hanukkah, but I am still hella proud of her!
ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS ADVENT SPAM CALENDAR
Ten years ago, I got a wild hair and decided to try to produce content for an email thread of friends each day in December leading up to Christmas. Taking a look back, some posts still feel pretty clever, some are kinda dated, and some are just embarrassing. But not so bad that they are not worth reposting for posterity. So, here they are with some typos fixed and editorial notes where a link is dead or something feels like it could use some explaining, apologizing, or victory lapping.
