So, today we are going to see if you were they type of kid that went snooping for you presents or waited until Christmas morning. That’s right, three days worth of holiday goodnuss in a single email — can you portion it out through Sunday or will curiosity get the better of you and result in a Friday night glut?
This is also the first can of Xmas SPAM that is a little bit NSFW so you might want to use discretion (especially on the Saturday post). We also have a couple newcomers on the distro list (Geoff and The Beard) — welcome gents and I will get you the posts from days one and two directly.
Anywho, away we go…
FRIDAY (all SFW):
Today marks the limited release of a movie from Finland called “Rare Exports” and — based on early reviews — it looks destined to become a holiday classic. The movie is actually based on a couple of fantastic internet shorts (that will be your treats for Saturday and Sunday) but to whet your appetite for the real Santa here are the trailers for the feature length movie along with a promotional “History of Santa” video so that you know what kind of creature we are dealing with:
- History of Santa
- Teaser Trailer
- Trailer (Serious Version)
- Trailer (Funnier Version)
The DC premiere is 12/17 at E Street if anyone is interested…
SATURDAY (NSFW: nudity)
Introducing Rare Exports Inc., your exclusive source for authentic Finnish Father Christmases (international shipping available). Beware of the video — there is a disturbing/hilarious amount of feral Santa dong:
SUNDAY (maybe NSFW: some violence)
Due to increasing global demand for authentic Finnish Father Christmases, Rare Exports Inc. has been forced to subcontract with various shipping and logistics companies. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a certain amount of product loss and HR issues. As such, please view these Official Safety Instructions:
ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS ADVENT SPAM CALENDAR
Ten years ago, I got a wild hair and decided to try to produce content for an email thread of friends each day in December leading up to Christmas. Taking a look back, some posts still feel pretty clever, some are kinda dated, and some are just embarrassing. But not so bad that they are not worth reposting for posterity. So, here they are with some typos fixed and editorial notes where a link is dead or something feels like it could use some explaining, apologizing, or victory lapping.
