Today’s edition is being brought to us by the generous folks at Flaming Donkey, purveyors of the finest glögg and glögg-related products. For your consideration this afternoon:
Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey
Many, many holiday seasons ago there was a failed experiment called me and James in CoStar corporate orientation. One of the minor torments that we visited upon the hapless John Ableson was the discovery and repeated playing of this delightful little tune. I was not sure that this song could get any better, make me laugh harder, or make me think any more of Papa Nick … but then I found this video:
Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey
Not sure that I have ever seen this stop motion classic, but the gang from RiffTrax (aka MST3K) have a go at it:
Speaking of Mike Nelson & Co., they are doing another live Christmas event on December 16th — this year it’s online instead of in theaters. The Jo and I went last year and it was good fun in case anyone is interested in joining us this year: http://www.rifftrax.com/live/online/debut2010
ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS ADVENT SPAM CALENDAR
Ten years ago, I got a wild hair and decided to try to produce content for an email thread of friends each day in December leading up to Christmas. Taking a look back, some posts still feel pretty clever, some are kinda dated, and some are just embarrassing. But not so bad that they are not worth reposting for posterity. So, here they are with some typos fixed and editorial notes where a link is dead or something feels like it could use some explaining, apologizing, or victory lapping.
